The first species were probably small, generalist predators, but over time, they developed bigger bodies, sharper teeth, and specialized claws for grasping and shearing meat.
So I'm very much a generalist and so I tend to avoid those particular areas and over the years have built up holdings in a number of those small cap stocks.
But what I learned to do was to hire generalists, to hire people who learned fast, to hire people who were flexible because you were highly likely to pivot in what you were doing. So that was one lesson.
